Living In Colonial Times

The most challenging part if I lived in colonial times would be sleeping on the bed. The parents would sleep on beds called jack-beds. Jack-beds are high off theĀ  ground so the younger children can sleep under them. They are also very short. The younger children sleep in beds that are called trundle beds. The trundle beds are pulled out from under the jack-beds. Older children sleep in the attic on beds made of bags or a soft mattress. The bags are made with scratchy straw and mattresses are made of feathers or bits of wool. Babies would sleep in cradles witch are next to the fire.
